First Day Covers
In 2022 I joined a small online group of Textile Artists interested in creating a response to First Day Covers (the envelope that heralds the issue of a new stamp or series of stamps).
The process is that, every 4 months, we each send - snail mail - an FDC to another member and we then create a response to the one sent to us.
The challenge for me is that often the FDC is one I would not choose to create from and so it stretches me outside my comfort zone. While I am often stretched I have enjoyed all the different themes and also seeing the other group members' responses to their FDC's.
