FEATURED PROJECTS

Chapel Commission

In late 2010, a commission for the Newcastle Calvary Mater Hospital Chapel for me to create four large wall hangings was the catalyst to develop in the area of art quilts.

The commission was to create four altar cloths and to rework a previously commissioned wall hanging, for their new Chapel. The brief was for the work to be inclusive of all faiths and people and to reflect the Hunter region.

The result was four quilted wall hangings which reflect Hunter lifestyle and from the vantage point of the hospital these four aspects can be seen – the water, the land, the city and the valley.
